Good books are peoples best friend. They certainly make an impact if written in a powerful and convincing manner.
Do you think reading can change your thought process? We ceratinly gain good knowledge and information.
But can books change our thinking?Have you ever felt so?

I am a regular reader of books on management and firmly believe that books help us change our thinking, the way we plan, the way we react to business problems, the way we invest all has changed and i am very satisfied with what i have gained from my readings. Rather i summarise these books for future reference.

Books I've read have changed the way I felt about certain people and subjects certainly. They let you look at things from a different point of view and give you a new understanding of a situation you may not have had before. That's the beauty of books they make you think more than films and television.

yes, i read "MEN ARE FROM MARS AND WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS".before reading this book i was unable to understand the cold wars among couples and how could they be intelligently be handled without harming the relation or the feelings of both people involved. it describes the thought processes of men and women.it refers to the expectations and reactions of both as a couple as well as an individual.this book really helped me to look at my relation with my husband in entirely new way.i think it would be of use to everybody who wants to have a better understanding of his or her soulmate.

I believe that people are the sum of their experiences multiplied by their thoughts.
Any decent book has the ability to educate and to inspire individual thoughts, therefore enables the reader to grow as a person. A good author can give such a true sense of their perspective, that reading their work is as beneficial as a deep and personal conversation with a friend or loved one.

I read a book called Gina. It was about a girl whose mother went to an abortion clinic and had her aborted (she thought) The abortion did not take and the little girl was born. She had problems but grew to be adult. This book was written about her and by her. It was wonderful. I did not belive in abortions before reading the book but after reading the book, I hated even the name abortion. I urge eveyone to read this book.

This was such a good book and it went into detail of what happed to the young mother when she went to have her abortion. It is so sad and I cannot see who this could not affect the young lady doing it.
Thanks for Best response

The mere description has given me goosebumps. So,I can imagine what an immense impression it can leave on the reader.
In college we were told by our respected nuns about the ways an abortion is doneand at that very point I decided ,I would never opt for it no matter what.

The books that I have read are the ones A child Called It , The Lost Boy and Aman Named Dave. These 3 books are by a man called Dave Pelzer and they truly touched me - it is the story of his childhood and journey into adulthood, and you would not believe how badly abused he was. I think this book should be compulsory reading in high school because despite his horrendous start in life he has made a successful life for himself - honestly it is a Must Read but be sure to have a box of tissues or two! x

As long as books give some knowledge then yes they can have an impact on peoples lives. Sci fi etc can spur imagination. Changing your thought processes is up to you. You are the master of your domain. Books are mere tools. They can open some doors. They are only as good as the writer who wrote them and the reader the uses the information.

I agree that a good book can become a good friend. They are ones I often revisit and enjoy. I have had some that have altered the way I view the world. It might just be a small bit in it that the author never really meant for it to but for the reader it can change their whole outlook on things. I always find books like that enjoyable. The ones that make you think without you realizing it if that makes sense. It enters into your mind and you realize some time later that it has effected you and it keeps doing it as you look at the world around you. Those to me are great books.

I have read this one book one time that was a tragic love story. It touched me in such a way that it actually left me in tears and feeling mopey. I was mopey and down for days for the way the story ended. I do believe books can effect your mood and the way you think.

Yes, I believe it can. I read Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weightloss Challenge. It was amazing the thought processes, and how previous things affected me. It is a great book, even if you aren't wanting to lose weight.

Good books broaden your perspective, it provides you with knowledge, understanding, wisdom and conviction. I also believe that books can change our way of thinking in a manner that it allows us to know information that we's never though before. You can learn in a book everything that you want to know in life. In short, books are THAT powerful. :)
