I had two kids one with an epidural and one without, the one without was not my choice it happened too fast to get one. Although I am grateful for the experience of a natural childbirth with no medication, I would definatley not choose it. What do you think?

I had two very long and very painfull labours that went on for days so an epidural was a god send for me.

Epidural definitely. I had 4 children. The first their wasn't a choice of an epidural. Then they gave spinal taps and they were very scary, so I had him natural. The 2nd and 3rd I had too fast. The 4th I went to the hospital in what I thougth was plenty of time only to find out it was almost too late for an epidural. I begged for one, so they gave it to me. My husband couldn't believe I didn't yell at him once during that birth.

I wanted to try to have a "natural" birth with my first but it was way too painful. I wanted to enjoy the experience and I couldn't have without an epidural. So far both boys I've used an epidural and with this pregnancy I will use one as well. No side effects or any problems with the babies.

with with with with with!
Our nurses were strong advocates of natural child birth, and the second day of our induction, things moved fast... They purposefully stalled the epidural man as long as they could, which REALLY pissed us off. My wife was in horrible agony, and when he finally came, it only eased her pain a little. She said that birth was like someone was ripping her body in half, and made me promise afterwards that we would never do that again.
Every time she starts talking about another baby, I remind her, and she changes her mind again real quick...
Childbirth... what a vicious, wretched process (lol)

After having a child both ways now, Id definately do it again without an epidural because I felt so much better afterwars. Yes the pain hurt alot when I was actually in labor and giving birth, but afterwards was like 100% different then when I had an epidural with my son. Im not saying in superwoman and can handle it all, but those moments of pain when my daughter was being born was worth feeling 100% better afterwards. It was well worth it to me, not what I orignally chose for my labor but she came so fast that I had no other choice.

I had three c-sections so I have never been without an epidural. I can say they are great for controlling the pain but I hated getting them. It is hard to sit still (and be all hunched over) for so long while they are putting it into place. I think getting the epidural was the worst part of the whole ordeal.

i say without. i had both my kids natural. although when i had my daughter i didn't know they gave me twilight ( i think is what it was). she was the easy one. my son i had back labor. at the end they gave me the twilight then 25 minutes later he came out so he got the meds too. this one i plan on going natural as well hoping that this one is as fast as the other two. daughter was 5 1/2 hours and son was 6 1/2 hours. if i need anything i'll go with the twilight before they break my water.

I had two kids with an epidural. My first one it was great, I didn't feel much. My second epidural wore off right before the labor and they had to give me more medication and new medications. I guess I was in labor too long.

With my first son I had an epidural. With my second son I had an epidural but they had to cut if off early because my blood pressure dropped really low. So when I went in to have my daughter they told me that I couldn't have an epidural but they did end up giving it to me just in small doses. So if it were me, definetly get the epidural!
