Lushies.. Do you use body scrubs from other companies? If so, which ones. Also do you prefer salt or sugar scrubs?
Recently, I purchased a couple of whipped salt scrubs from Isle of Eden. I really love them.. I just placed another order to try their sugar scrubs too. I also just placed an order to try a Fantasy Bath scrub. I used to use Lush's Ocean Salt (as a body scrub) but that is really too expensive to justify using it as a body scrub. I have also used Philosophy's The Gingerbread man scrub which I liked (that is a salt scrub).
I suppose I prefer salt scrubs because those are pretty much the only ones I have used so far.

I've used several scrubs from The Body Shop because I worked there for a time. My favorite scrubs have ground almond or rice in them because then the scrubs don't dissolve away. Otherwise, I would find that I would have to huddle at the end of the shower so it won't all wash away before I have a chance to get a good scrub. The Body Shop makes a pretty nice Cocoa Butter scrub that helps your lotion absorb a lot better. That's the only one that I've bought more than once.
When it comes to salt and sugar scrubs, I prefer sugar scrubs. Salt scrubs are supposed to detox your skin. They are particularly good for people who work out a lot and sweat. I don't care for them that much because when my skin is really dry, I can scratch a bit too much. This leaves me with little hairline scratches. Add salt scrub to this and...whoa momma! When I worked at the body shop, I would always warn people not to scrub after they shave if they are using a salt scrub. I know it seems self explanatory, but you'd be surprised.
Sugar scrubs are meant to draw moisture to the skin. So while they exfolliate, they are supposed to be more moisturizing. The Body Shop used to make a sugar scrub that was Satsuma scent. We would barely keep the thing on the shelves. I liked it a lot myself because in the summer I could use it with their matching lotion. The sad thing is that I'm not sure if the store carries taht line anymore. Last time I went there, they didn't, but perhaps I should check again.
I'll have to check out Isle of Eden. It might be nice to try some new products.

Thanks for the scoop..I actually didn't know the difference between the scrubs. Since my skin is dry I should probably be using a sugar scrub during the winter months. I would have liked that Satsuma scrub. I use that perfume oil regularly.
I can't wait to get my next Isle of Eden order.. it takes a long time to get your order but I think the products are worth the wait.

Yeah, working at The Body Shop was totally a mixed blessing. The products were good, and the company's policies were great, but don't even get me started on the issues with management. It was also sad because I got to watch as the quality of the products started to dwindle.
As for scrubs, I also prefer ones that are creamy over oily. The oily ones need to be mixed sometimes or you need to use a little scoop. Can anyone reccommend any scrubs that are easy to use?

I think sugar scrubs are better for me, my skin tends to get too dry to use salt scrubs. I need to go check if Skindazzles or Skindecent have good sugar scrubs, because those are the two etailers I'm deciding between for my next order once I can afford it. Philosophy does have some really yummy scented scrubs too though, Gingergread sounds delish!

Skindecent's scrubs are awesome!!
My two favorites are sheen appeal(creamy and moisturizing) and body buffer(foaming and really scrubby.)
As for scents I like in her scrubs, I prefer Buttermint, Pink Caramels, Sugar Plum Princess, and Vanilla Bean Noel.

Yeah, I'm thinking Sheen appeal in Totally twisted peppermint or Satsuma mint would be amazing!

I wasn't thrilled with the totally twisted peppermint. It's not at all like B&BW. It's got a fake plasticy strawberry smell to it in my opinion. I like the buttermint so much better, now that smells like B&BW's twisted peppermint!
I want to try the Satsuma Mint next time I order too. I think she comes back tomorrow and I hear there's a sale coming soon!!! I am all over that;)

I actually do use body scrubs from other companies quite a bit. From Lush, I use Buffy and have YSTW, but haven't tried it yet. I haven't tried any etailers yet. I do like Ocean salt, but it is expensive and cannot justfy using if for my body. I have used body scrubs from The Body Shop, Origins, Aveda, Sunshine Spa, Whole Foods and a few more. I like both salt/sugar scrubs and grainy scrubs. My favorte one was one from Sunshine spa that they used to sell at Trader Joes for a reasonable price. It was a brown sugar scrub and either was tangerine or mango scented. TJs no longer carries it but Whole Foods does, but for 2x the price, which I'm not happy about.

I haven't bought it in a while, and I only bought it once, but I have used Origins Ginger Body Scrub. It's a sea salt and ginger scrub. It also had some different types of nut oils in it. I liked it, and it smelled pretty nice...although it did make the floor of the tub kinda slippery so I had to be careful with that. I like scrubs, but I find I often "forget" about using them.
The jar from Origins that I had lasted a pretty long time. But it is REALLY pricey, so I never bought it again.
Has anyone tried the "Smooch" product from Villainess? I really want to try some of their soaps and such, so I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has tried their stuff.

I use Benefit Bionic Blast to try and make my skin behave. I'm not sure if they make it anymore actually!
I'd love to try the Philosophy one as I love the brand and love gingerbread. It's so expensive though :(

I absolutely LOVE Mary Kay Sugar Scrubs. Even my boyfriend likes them! They just make my skin feel really good. The only downside is I don't think there are any that are for guys-but the smell doesn't really linger too strongly on your skin afterwards.

If your boyfriend likes scrubs I would totally recommend you check out www.isleofeden.com. They have a lot of guy friendly scents.. I would recommend the lime or pineapple single note scrubs. I started using these scrubs a couple of months ago and I am already hooked on them.

I use Tutti Dolci body scrubs from bath and body works. My boyfriend uses Lush's Ocean Salt. I haven't really tried any others yet.

I haven't really ventured into the realm of scrubs yet. I'm obsessing about solid scrubby things (buffy-esque) at the moment. But I like the idea of a salt scrub better than a sugar scrub, just because I think I would enjoy the scent more.

Girl, if you like salt scrubs I think you are going to love Fantasy Baths! It is like a spa scrub, really chunky pieces of salt. What scent did you get? I have one in Snow Wonder...yummy!
I also love both Philosophy scrubs(in Gingerbread Man, Senorita Margarita, and Pure Grace) and Skindecent's scrub-but SDE's are sugar scrubs.

I got the Jamaica Me Crazy scrub. I love the bath bombs with that scent so I got the matching scrub. I do really like the scrub. Did you notice on the label it says it only has a three month shelf life? That seems really quick for the scrub to expire.. especially since the scrub is kind of big. I hope it lasts longer than that. (I am storing it in a cool dark place like it says on the label too.)

Oh nice! I love Jamaica Me Crazy, so fresh and fruity!! I think it's going to last alot longer than 3 months too...that sucker is huge, and I can't see the oils going bad in it that fast either.
