Hello everyone,
I recently got a mouse problem, Mice have gotten into my house when the door stayed open. Now it is a horrid situation, we have minimum 3 mice in the house. We know where each of them are, the only problem is that one of them is in the Cold storage room where we keep all our food (Most of it)
It is hiding somewhere and because of the food it is hard to catch it, we cannot hope for it to freeze to death.
The second one is in a drawer under my stove. It's stuck in there.
The third is in the room... i don't really know how to call it, but where my furnace (boiler and heater) is. Otherwise if they all meet, this could be trouble because they might multiply! Mouse traps is not an option as it would turn into Human traps(for the cold storage room at least)
Anyone mind giving some help on this situation?

Get a cat. Or a dog lol. Our old dog used to love to chase mice. He wasn't too good at it because he was so old, but it was funny to watch him try. And now that we have a puppy, we'll see how she reacts if and when she sees one. She's already caught a squirrel and two birds, so she's bound to do pretty good.
If you know where the mouse holes are you can plug them up. It won't get rid of the problem, but it'll control it until you find a more permanent solution.
There are mouse traps that are known as "glue traps". They pose no threat to humans or the environment, but they are very effective in catching mice. Also, you can get these little cage things that we used to get when we had mice. It's so big that it's hard to step on, but it too is very effective. Just put it at the mouth of the hole with some food of some kind at the other end. As soon as the mouse/rat goes in, it triggers a trapdoor that closes behind the mouse, and it can't get out. Then you can do whatever you want to with it.
Hope that helps:)

My advice...MOVE OUT !! LOL. I have a terrible fobia of mice...I always tell my hubby that if mice move into our home..I move out !! The only think I can think of is mouse poison...but thats bad if you have inside pets or small kids. I know peavy mart sells a type of trap that is like a cage...the mouse goes in and then the door is triggered and shuts...traping them but not killing them? I don't know what you do with them once they are trapped. These were designed for people who couldnt have the traditional trap set or if you are an animal activist.
Another option is to call an exterminator...maybe they have some advice or check with peavey mart or another agriculter store for something thats safe yet effective.
Good luck !
