I am sitting in Lynchburg Virginia and home os in York Nebraska. My husband and son are home. I am so homesick and want to go home but I have a class I am taking here for my Masters degree in marriage and family therapy. I will leave to go home on Saturday but how do I keep myself from going crazy in the meantime? Any advice would be much appreciated. This is the first time I have been away from my son and the first ime in 13 years I have been away from my husband for more than a weekend.

i understand what you're going through. everytime i go on a trip for more than a day or two i feel like i'm going crazy. and not because i don't like travelling, it's just that i've become so addicted to my boyfriend that when i or him have to leave the town for a while my heart is just broken into pieces... don't think i'm some kind of a weirdo, it's just that we've become used to seeing eachother daily.... unfortunately i don't know how we could get over it but just think about it: you're going to go back home where they are waiting for you to come. after all you left for a defined purpose and you've accomplished it! so congratulations and i hope you'll see all the good parts before having some kind of depression.(kidding) :P see ya, contuletz

When I had to go away from my family I would always make something for them. Be it a crocheted blanket or painting or knitted scarves a picture book anything to trick my mind that I was away to make these things for them :)

well it is tough either way. I think you need to remember why you are there and immerse yourself in your work, then play on my lot and other places you need to to keep your mind off of things, and you can always email me and I will certainly talk it through with you.

that is a rough situation to be in. try making friends in virginia, though this wont make it better it will make it easier because you wont be sitting at home doing nothing all the time. its ard, but you'll be ok.

Oh it must be extremely harad and I sympathize with you I think that you just have to put your mind to what you are doing and think that you will achieved your Masters degree soon and then you will not have to achieved your dreams so it is not that long until Saturday and then you will be home with your lovely son and and husband

It is getting easier as the week gets closer to an end, but it still bothers me when I call home and hear Nick on the other end. I will make it through though.
