As far as my mother is concern, I believe she should. Being a homemaker is a very hard task, but the best thing about mothers is that they don't ask for any financial reward for it. They make it as a responsibility even a sacrifice which takes a lot of courage and wit to fulfill the needs of their husband and kids. What wives must receive is the true love and support from their lifetime partners. I think becoming a wife and performing as one is the reason why women keep their marriage with their better halves for life.

I don't think a wife should receive a salary if that is what you mean. If she is not working outside the home, then the husband's salary belongs to both of them. They are both working, but just in different places. The salary is for them to take care of their household needs.
Included in the household needs should be an allowance of some kind for both the husband and the wife so that they have a little spending money to buy a cup of coffee, or some make-up, or something extra without having to ask specifically for the money. And I don't think they should have to say where every cent went. If the husband thinks he should just shove the money he makes from his job each week into his pocket and spend it however he thinks it should be spent, he is very wrong and the marriage is in big trouble. Wives, especially if they have young children to care for, work just as hard as men do, and often many more hours as they are continuing to care for children all through the evening after the husband has been finished with his work for hours.
