"Never work just for money or for power. They won't save your soul or help you sleep at night.”
-Marian Wright Edelman

The operative word here is "just" or to use a different word with the same meaning in that context, "only".
We do not work ONLY for money, but we work because it is the honourable and honest thing to do: "a fair day's work for a fair day's pay" If we do not work we are robbing others and are worse than an infidel.

the thing is, who decides whats fair pay for fair work? Is it really fair that a pro football player makes millions while say an EMT who saves people's lives on a daily basis makes $15/hour? It's just so...unequal.

i absolutely do. I am about to graduate college and pretty much everyone i see lives opposite of this quote. I know this will not make me happy. I am not a big money and power person, those things honestly do not make me happy.
