What do you do with your spare change? Do you save it in a jar, keep it in your purse until it weighs too much,or something else?I toss them into my bag until it weighs too much, then I transfer them into a container (minus pennies) currently a baby wipes dispenser - if this container goes undiscovered and gets full I take it to a bank out of the area that has a coin counter and collect the $'s.
My husband collects about $3 every week from the ground at work, because some of the guys he works with will often just throw their change out to the ground.

I put all my spare change in seperate jars. Once those jars get full I will count it all out, wrap it up and than deposit it into my bank account. Certainly is a great way to save, one would be surprised how much can come of their change when they save it all up.

i used to just toss lose change into the bottom of my purse. after a while i decided it was too heavy and counted all the change in there. $3!! mostly pennies! heavy! lol
now we use a big jar. though it seems to get raided for the ice cream man much more than my purse ever did!

I usually keep my spare change. Then, I save it in my "alkansiya" (a piggy bank) which is stored in my pedestal desk in the office. I keep it safe there from my younger brother who at times would pilfer. lol. I keep it there until i'm in dire need of money. The last time i got everything from my piggy bank was close to 400 pesos which is enough for my 4 days fare expenses & lunch in the office.
Saving those "taken for granted" coins really helps a lot in times of need. That's why whenever i see one in the streets, i usually pick it up. A one or ten centavo coin is as important as a hundred bucks. Who knows, one day when you don't have enough money...and all you need is a cent to make it sufficient enough to pay a cab, a jeepney (basic transportation here in our country) or a bottle of water.. you look at your purse and there you have your precious kept cent. Then, that's when you'll realize it's your lifesaver.
I'm actually saying this based from experience. :)
