Will a nuclear war happen? When and what do you think the consequences will be?

With so many nuclear weapons around and so many new countries gaining nuclear capability, I fear it is going to happen sooner then later. The sad part is it will not be a calamity for just one or two countries, the nuclear fallout will result in a global holocaust with disastrous consequences for human kind.
Please share your thoughts on this.

If there is nuclear weapon, there is every possibility of using it. Now the question arises 'when'. It is not certain, but in near future say within 10 years. Because terrorists are trying to get such weapons by any means. If they are success very soon they will use it. In such situation suffered country will also use if it has. Iran is trying to make and will use on Isarail most probably. Its consequence is know to all world community. Main reason behind this nuclear weapons race is that developed countries have mass destruction weapons, time to time they are using at many countries. This use has provoked many contries to think for nuclear weapon first which is considered most destructive weapon in the world. They can creat fear psychosis. I am confident it will be used and we will face health, environmental, financial etc problem in near future.

Here lies the problem about those countries who are nursing their nuclear weapons. I wonder as to how safely they are being kept on guard. One error, one goes out, and it will signal the start of a nurclear war which seemingly is more than enough to wipe out all inhabitants from planet earth. I cannot recall exactly how many times over, they say, will the nuclear fallout kill the earth.

A large nuclear explosion will throw up so much gasses(foul and radioactive gasses) into the atmosphere that the sun will be blocked out for years, this and the associated radiation is called as the nuclear fallout. This will kill far more people than the actual explosion. Sad sad way to die indeed... cold, falling-off hair, falling-off teeth, falling-off finger nails, still-born babies, babies born with all sorts of defects... Bad picture indeed.
