I need to sleep more especially this daylight savings time is messing up my schedule. I go to bed around 3 am and my toddler wakes me up 8 am. I only get to sleep 5 hours or less every night. And am also pregnant so when I lay in bed, i don't sleep right away. That is why am looking forward to weekends when my husband is not working so I can stay up late in the morning.
I take power naps though even for just 10 minutes. Because if I don't do that now and then, I collapsed from too much fatigued and tiredness.
But then, I never had any decent sleep since I gave birth to my first child. I always have my ears open to little noise that I can't go into a real deep sleep. Ahhh..the joys of motherhood.

i usually sleep at 9pm or there about, every night. i woke at 4:30am the following morning, give and take 30 minutes. i log on my laptop up to 6:30 in the morning and that is my latest normal and usual routine. i feel drowsy sometimes when i report to my office. but i do not consider myself as sleep-deprived...

Yes, I definately need more sleep. The problem is that I just don´t feel tired at night. Therefore I go to bed too late and I´m tired in the morning.
I´ve tried to go to bed before 3am, but I always end up tossing and turning without being able to sleep.
Try sleeping nine hours to see if you feel less tired.

I've been feeling really sleepy the past few weeks as well. I wonder what's up with that?

You might want to keep an eye on that. It could indicate that you have some sort of illness. That's how I started. I was just tired all the time, no matter how much sleep I got. Now I am very sick and i sleep even more! sometimes I sleep about 20 hours a day. Sleeping like this can also indicate depression or mono. Try using benadryl or tylenol PM so that you actually get restful sleep at night. sometimes that helps.

Yeah I'am so sleep deprived. I'am a student nurse (currently on my third year in Nursing here in the Philippines), and my sleep pattern has been destroyed. I've been rotated on different shifts, but I find it hard to cope up with the 11pm to 7am schedule. I sleep the whole day and stay awake the whole night. I mean, i miss the stars... it's not that I'm reclaiming. I know eversince that this is the nature of my work. Well atleast I cannot stay that way forever unlike those working in call centers. So when I get the chance to sleep, I really doze off. I need to be healthy too and since I'am a health care provider, I should know better.

Yes, as matter of fact I do. I know I should be getting more sleep but unfortunately I have an unhelpful spouse who shuns from any responsibility other than going to work. I'm so over it. I understand he works hard but I can't keep getting up at 5 am and going to sleep after midnight.
My kids are on spring break and I have been getting some well deserved sleep. I can see and feel the difference in my appearance.

I've been deprived of sleep for almost 2 weeks now, I think I got 5 to 6 hours of sleep during weekdays and at least 8 hours on saturdays and then 6 hours again on sundays..and my mind doesn't work properly now, like you I always feel sleepy even at the office.

I always feel sleep deprived. Getting out of bed is one of my biggest daily challenges! I am bi-polar and sleep is a big escape for me and sometimes I have the greatest dreams. Dreams, so good that I just want to go back to sleep so that I get back into the dream.
I have sleep apnea, so I use a CPAP machine when I sleep. The CPAP machine blows air up my nose so that I don't stop breathing in my sleep. I had a sleep study done and the found that I stopped breathing every four minutes! I could never get a restful sleep because my brain would have to stay alert to keep me alive.

Perhaps you are not getting quality sleep. If your sleep patterns are not quite right your body and mind are not rested up as good as they should be. Stress can do this to you. Even whilst asleep your brain continues to work rather than shut down, making you feel unrested in the morning.
If the situation doesn't settle down I would visit your doctor and see what they say.
Good luck and I hope you get a good sleep soon.

yes, I feel like I have been a walking zombie since my six month old was born. He really throws me for a loop. He was sleeping through the night just fine, then started waking up in the middle of the night. He's not hungry, just wants to talk.. It's cute, but irratating. (:
Hopefully he'll stop soon. (: Of course, lately, even if I sleep for eight hours, I don't feel like I got enough rest.

I've been sleep deprived for sometime now. My bed is very uncomfortable so while I may sleep long enough, I don't sleep well. The quality of my sleep is very poor due to how my hips and or back hurt from my mattress. Some mornings I wake up and even though I've been in bed for 8 hours, I feel like I only slept for 4 or 5 hours.

Oh, I KNOW I'm sleep deprived. I have two little puppies, Sherlock and Leon, who get me up to play, eat, go outside to do their business, and to basically just say, "Hey mom, we do it because we can!" OK, so they can't talk, but when you are sleep deprived, a person really can't tell.

Whattt? you're lucky you can get that much sleep, Jackie. The most that I can sleep through the night is 5 to 6 hours only. I used to take an afternoon nap. But right now, I used the nap time in exchange for mylot. I know I need to get more sleep. But it became a bad habit when I gave birth to my eldest daughter.
