I have seen these days that many people go in for pirated CDs and dvds and pirated softwares and they think that its cheap and saves some money in pocket and some go in for original ones as they think that original CD DVDs and softwares have been created with lot of finance and buying pirated ones can ruin our music and software industry. Please do post comments about your thinking.

Nice question. and i would like to share that i m using pirated data as the pirated data is available cheap and i dont think it is of any harm. Where as talking of piracy, it is not good but we still go for that because it is an open available option. The music and the software industry should concentrate to bring down the cost of music and software so that the people go for original data thus stopping piracy.

I dont use pirated ones as i earn enough money that i need not go in for pirated ones. but i think those who purchase pirated cds are right on their part as pirated ones cost less to them and the poor people can increase their savings by not paying much for the stuff.

I don't buy CD's at all, they're old archaic technology. I download. Legally. But then again, I'm on a university network where I can get it free, legally. Heh.

Sometimes I buy originals, but most of the time I buy pirated. It is much much more practical to buy pirated ones that look like an original. Like here in the Philippines, a pirated DVD costs around 45 to 100 pesos each (approx. 1 to 2 US$) while an original costs around 500 to 900 pesos each (approx. 10 to 19 US$). Even a local film director here in our country admitted to patronizing pirated DVDs.
And with regards to music, I just download them from Limewire and burn them to a blank CD.
