amd64 Vs P4

i want a system for gaming purpose. What should i go for AMD64 or P4? Should i go for intel motherboard so that i can upgrade to Core2 later on or should i go for AMD64 as it is much better than P4.
plz suggest a good configration (CPU + RAM + motherboard + gfx card)
at total budget of Rs. 15,000..

Well its a pretty tough question. I'm of the mind that you should buy exactly the processor and motherboard you want when you first build a machine. Maybe that's just because I hate changing out processors. If it were me, I'd probably go for the Core 2 Duo and save money by buying a cheaper Video card and upgrading that later.
