There are two star fruit trees in my garden so I have fruits(as shown in the picture)harvested through out the year. Other than taking the fruits raw we also blend them to make delicious juice. Recently my sister in law even cooks them with onions, shrimps and other spicy ingredents to make yummy dish. I was told that star fruits can also lower blood presure. I'm glad to know some more recipes concerning uses of star fruits or other fruits.

Hi dian, I think your dad prefers the taste of star fruit juice blended with brown sugar, so it won’t taste sour. Hope that this nutritious drink would make him much healthier Well, one tree is better than none. It’s nice to have our own fruit trees in the courtyard. I have two star fruit trees and two rambutan tress as well. The rambutan trees are having clusters of baby fruits on them now and I think I would have the harvest by the end of the year. I would like to share them with my neighbors and friends. posting and take care.

I’m not bragging, the quality of the yellow skin one is excellent and many friends will inquiry when they can taste the juicy fruits again especially during fruit season. The flesh of the fruit is thick, sweet and juicy. It’s rather sorry that I could harvest them by the end of the year only, whereas other rambutan trees here usually will bear fruits twice a year. I would like to share with you my dear, those delicious rambutan if you come over to my place.

It is funny how i missed this discussion! oh, it is two years old and it can now walk heheheheeeeeee! just kidding. We dont grow star fruits in this part of the world, hence i have never tasted it in my life. I only see them in big store and they are pretty expensive so we dont find it neccessary. I wish i were your neighbor. You are soo lucky to have planted one and now you are eating the harvest. Hope the tree is still bearing fruits two years.

Hi kwenge, seems that you are not as active as before or might be I have missed your discussions recently. Anyway I’m glad that you still got interest to respond to my two years old discussion lol luckily that you didn’t walk away. Yeah, the start fruit tree is still bearing fruits nowadays. Now is the rambutan harvest season and my hubby prefers to take rambutan and doesn’t have any interest to wrap the baby star fruits anymore, so many of them are spoiled by the sting of the busy hornets. What’s more some parrots enjoy eating the fruits on the branches on the top parts of the tree daily. I agree that imported fruits are quite expensive in foreign country, so they are not popular in your place. It will be my honor to have friends especially you and dian to share the fruits harvested here. I had attached the image of my rambutan fruits in the comment (#9) above. Sorry that I couldn't share the real fruits with both of you though there are lots on the branches. posting and have a great day.

The star fruits in the picture are so lovely, and they remind me of the star fruit trees in my home town. Beside, I think the camera you are using able to produce high quality photos. I know the star fruit can be blended into nutritious fruit juice and can be served as delicious dish. I had tried them and they taste great!

You are so lucky that you had tried dishes that were prepared by star fruits in your home town. I think most of the people never taste dishes that made from star fruit before:)

Hi honeybee dear, I highly appreciate your kind advice for those diabetes and kidney patients as not to take too many star fruits. I’ll try my best to inform those who have suffered when I come upon any or to forward this to relatives and friends. Happy postings!:D

Now I can see you are also interested in cooking. Now I know what this fruit called in English:) Star fruit is a very common fruit here. But we prefer to eat it right away. Your cooking method sounds very interesting.

Good evening, dear lkbooi. It is so nice that you have a garden of yours to plant star trees with star fruits. If it is possible for me to travel to your hometown, I would pay a visit to you and have a good taste of those star fruits in your garden. Yeah, I love those blended fruit juice. It tastes so good. Just a few days ago, my American colleagues invited me to their apartment and made some fruit juices with different kinds of fruits. I love it so much and would like to buy one for my wife to do this for us as our breakfast as it is nutrious and good for our health. Good night and see you tomorrow.

Oh, you are so lucky to have these star fruit trees right in your garden. I live in a cold country and I buy star fruit sometimes to cut up and decorate a platter of fruit. It is very expensive and I usually only buy one fruit. Sometimes they are very grren and don't taste good. Sometimes they are o.k. but I could never afford so many to make juice. I bet it is delicious.
