Bringing up kids easier now?

Well I always hear people going on about how back in their day kids did this and not that etc. Well Im putting it to the Mylot community to find out if it is easier to bring up kids in todays society rather than 20 years ago. The Main points that stand out to me are society is a bit more dangerous that pevious generations but views have changed today and it may be easier in a sence that there is better technology
