My husband is the one who always apologized first whenever we had a fight.

Not married yet, but we're planning on it. As for the first to get consoled, if there is a fight we try to end it as soon as possible and then listen. Whoever discovers it was their problem that tempers flared (the issue may not be the problem of the person who got the most upset, but that person's reaction may have caused the fight) apologizes first, and the other gracefully affectps. No gloating, no putdowns, just sinserity.

It depends on who started the fight or who is to blame cause that all goes into who has to apologize first. And the first one to apologize is consoling the other one
