Afraid of the dark?

I have been afraid of the dark my entire life. Do you have any ideas why this might be?

Kind of not reall though. I can't go to sleep with total darkness not because I'm scared really, but becuase I don't like the things I think about in total darkness. I think of things that I'd rather not think about. That's what scares me.

I am 24 years old and I am and have always been terrified of the dark. I am sorry you are having to go through this as I know how hard it is...
