yes it can all it need is understanding & commitment. Today as everyone is running to move with the world & not be left behind people are manupulating words like love, understanding & commitment for example. But still their are those for whom commitment is most important factor of life.

I hope to live until I am really really old!!! I don't want to die next week or even next year. Give me at least 40 years.

Amen, yes it does. Unfortunately, we are not God and we are but mere humans and have to work, work, work at love to insure that it lasts.
Thank you for your reply.

I believe love can last a lifetime if you are willing to accept the changes that goes along with life. You have to accept the mate for who they are and vice versa. Once the lust phase of the relationship fade that's where the true nature of love starts to unfold.

Yes love can last a lifetime, but not being IN love. Not realistically anyway. I'm sure there are some few exceptions, but couples will always fall in and out of love. The kind that can last a lifetime is the love that grows over time.

Absolutely, but you have to work at it. You also have to realize that there is more than one kind of love and adjust. If you expect romantic love to last a lifetime, you're in for a disappointment. Romantic love eventually turns into married love which may not be as exciting but which is comfortable and lasting.
