AMD execs likely are smirking at the idea that dual-core technology still needs a lot of testing, since their own products have been flying off the shelves. They say they have an inherent advantage over Intel because their architecture is vastly more energy -efficient, on top of being powerful in their own right.
While Intel is still making a bundle off its Xeon chips, it seems clear they're feeling the heat for the first time in a long time from AMD. And if researchers from IDC or Gartner in coming weeks confirm that AMD continues to gain share in that space, it'll be a black eye that will make Intel very unhappy indeed.

i think intel is more powerful than amd as it can be said depending on many factors. first and for most is that for amd cooling requirement is much higher than all other requiremnets where as there is no such case for intel processors.
while i use amd at my office and ficd it slow and use intel at home it fast, it could be possible that the system at my office is not configured proper. For amd processor based system the configuration and installation should be done by some one who know the working of amd very well otherwise it is useless to use amd based systems, while in the case of intel based system this is not the case.

I like AMD better. They have great new processors that run 64 bits, like the Athlon X2 series. Intel has duel core processors also, but AMD seems to be stronger, and it is cheaper too, so it is good. I have AMD on my current computer, and I am getting a new one with an AMD processor also.
