What makes you decide to approve or deny a friend request?

I usually approve all of my friend request. I have alot of friends, but I rarely hear from many of them. I think that is the general idea of making friends but I am not sure if many people keep in touch in one way or another. Nevertheless, if someone wants to be my friend, I say hey what's the harm in that!

That is what I usually do, just approve everyone, but I havent been on here long. But I dont really ever hear from them either, that is why I was wondering what makes people make their decisions on that, thanks for the input.
