There was a discussion about fried chicken I received so this brought an old funny memory to mind. My children were about 7 & 9 at this time. We shopped K-Mart a lot at this time also. This one store is about a ile from a local lake so theres a lot of seagulls in the parking lot. They ate scraps of food people tossed on the lot. Now my kids loved the fried chicken meals from there until.... My daughter asked where the chicken came from they served. I told her, see all those seagulls outside? They kill them & cook them up. LOL. To this day my kids call Chicken seagull. My son still won't eat it claiming he is allergic & it makes his lips swell up. Which of course never happens. Hope you enjoyed this funny stroy of my past.

That sounds like soemthing that my mom would've told me. My older sister is terrified of seagulls. When we was little we went to Flordia alot. I use to tell her that alot of times seagulls would think that people who were swimming in the ocean were fish because they was up so high & the people were mostly submmergied in water & that ones they came down to try to sweep you up they realised that they couldnt carry you. But by that time they were either really hungry or just mad cause they couldnt lift you so they would call the others then they all peeked your eyes out & bit you all over. Of course everytime we would be swimming in the ocean there would be dolphins swimming & you could see there fin sticking up in the water. I always said it was a shark. she got to were she didnt ever want to go to Flordia & when mom made her, she stayed in the hotel room the whole time.
I dont eat chicken either. But thats just because we use to have it all the time when we was little & I just got tired of it.
Alright, enough with my rambline stories. Thanks for makeing me laugh! (again)

LOL Loved the story. Up in Duluth at the Harbor on Lake Superior there is an abundant supply of gulls flying around. Of course theres also a popcorn stand. Well the gulls swoop down snatching popcorn right from peoples hands as they try to eat it. Now that's a funny sight to see.

Your mean, Grandpa Bob. lol I don't blame your son for his 'allergic reaction' to 'chicken' now after you told him that. It is funny thou, despite that. lol

Oh my, the things we tell our children that they never forget and always believe...like growing hair on the palms of your hands for example, ever hear of that one Bob??..lol
My mom told that one to my brothers, I use to tell my kids that if they told lies the "tongue thief" would come and take their tongues...lol...fair to say they never told me a lie I didn't catch them in..or at least I don't think I did...haha..
