Did the Battlestar Galactica ever reached the legendary 13th colony planet Earth and should I prepare for their arrival?

If you are talking about the Lorne Green version from back in 1978-1979, they supposedly found Earth & called that Galactica 1980. Many of us die-hard fans of that show consider it as "it never really happened" & the episode "The Hand Of God" was the last real episode.
As for the new series, while they made plenty of changes such that it is an entirely different story using the name, Battlestar Galactica, well, I have not had any contact with the fans of the original episode for a while. Last I had heard, we were sort of upset that they chose to butcher up the original show, mainly because we actually wanted a continuation to pick up where that one season left off, & not a remake of the series.

They actually had a made-for-TV movie after the original BSG was cancelled that showed them finding Earth and defending it from the cylons since Earth wasn't as advanced as they were hoping(because they found Earth in the mid-80's). It only had one or two of the main characters from the series in it though.
