Why does happiness easily fades away?

Have you ever noticed the time when you are happy, suddenly after a couple of minutes or hours, it will just fade away? Why is it that when you have problems, it seems that you are bringing it each and everyday especially if these are still unresolved ones.
I have thought of this because it seems in life, it's more on the problems and less on the happiness? Can you share something? Have you also thought about this? :)

I guess it also boils down to the saying "when I did wrong everybody remembers, when I did right everybody forgets".
Somehow what you're saying makes sense here... I mean, it happens at times.. but don't you think it's just a matter of how you perceive and retain things on our minds that really affects how we feel? If we see the brighter side of the world and try to remember the good things we had despite the dilemma that we might be experiencing that time, I guess we can still find our way to cast a lovely smile on our faces... :P
just my two cents here. :P

I think it's a state of mind rather than an emotional state. Another words, what you think will dictate how you feel. If you think you have more problems than not, then you will not feel happy. It's a lot like the glass half empty/half full theory.
