I have to disagree with you, not alot of people do like gothic music, lots of people may think they like gothic music but they are thinking of such bands as Slipknot, Evanescence, Good charlotte, my chemical romance. Yet true gothic music is bands such as the cure, sisters of mercy, or even some of the newer gothic bands such as Deathstars, velvet acid christ, type o negative ect...

The original classic goth music, Sisters of Mercy, The Mission and The Cure, has all the elements. Melodic, well written lyrics, great arrangements, all you need :-)

I disagree. I mean not everyone likes it. And some of the people that say they like goth music - don't know what goth music really is. Like some people say Good Charlotte is goth. They most certainly are not. When I think of Goth I think of Peter Murphy, Bauhaus, Skinny Puppy, Love and Rockets, Souxie & the Banshees, the Tear Garden, Clan of Xymox, London after Midnight. I find goth music appealing for many reasons. Some of it is ethereal and lovely. Some of it is great for dancing. Some of it just sets the right mood.
