Salvation is free but there are only a few takers.

It is sad to see people turning down God's offer of salvation by grace through faith just bacause it is free. But they do not realize that, although salvation is free, it was paid for by the blood of Christ. Salvation required a sacrifice and it was God Himself, in his perfect righteousness, who gave His life by coming down in the flesh through His Son, Christ Jesus our Savior and Lord. Would you refuse to breathe only because air is free?

You make a good point Marvin. Keep spreading the word. I think so many people have complicated the matter that people don't understand how easy it is. Many people feel like if they accept Christ, they will have to lead perfect sinless lives devoid of all fun, and never ever make a mistake again. We just have to keep praying that the unsaved will see how simple it really is.

Great question MarvinP.
I think refusing to breath isn't the issue. It's that we take it for granted so easily, just like we take the blessings from God for granted.
A better question is, when is the last time we stopped just to say thank you to Him for the breath we take?

You are right, Terilee. People could live happier lives if they would only stop and count the blessings they receive daily. Believing that God is is not enough, it is more a matter of acknowledging His provisions, and thanking Him for everything.

I think the issue isn't that it's free, but that some people legitimately do not believe in your God. We are not hiding from God, we are not denying a gift of salvation, we simply do not believe!
I don't understand why it's so hard for some people to accept that not everyone believes the same way they do. I honestly have no reason to accept "salvation" from some God that has nothing to do with me. I have Gods. I have worshipped the same Gods since childhood. I don't have some kind of hole in my life that needs to be filled, and I don't feel a need to be saved by a God that is essentially a stranger to me.
I have respect for your beliefs, don't get me wrong. I have Christian friends, and I married a man who is a Christian. It's perfectly okay that you believe in the Christian God, and believe in salvation through Christ.

It saddens me too to see people turn their backs on Jesus and refuse His awesome Gift of Salvation. Do they not realize just what He did for us? The pain and suffering He endured willingly for us?
When I think about what all Jesus did for a sinner like me, it brings tears to my eyes. His love is far greater than I will ever know. He is the greatest!
I pray for those who do not know the Lord. I pray that God will somehow touch their hearts and that they will invite the Lord Jesus into their lives and experience the awesome joy and peace that only comes from knowing Him.
God bless you!

There are still millions if not billions of people who still does not know Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and Lord. Let us make every moment of our time as much as possible to be a witness of His overflowing love for us to those who are still in the dark. This is His command for us, so let our life be a testimony of God's love.
