the pacman is running for congress.
most, if not all, of his fans are against his decision to run as filipinos know how terrible philippine politics is.
according to the news, he's taking everything as a challenge, including his fans dispute over his decision.
and most likely, his attention is divided considering he's scheduled for a bout in mid-april against solis.
is he actually making the right choice even if everyone (i think) of his fans are already against it?

and now... pacman... indeed philippine politics is now a circus... has manny lost his mind because of his victories over boxings... has the punches affected his mind or something? what is clear now is that the pacman has lost his sense... it is evident that he will just be used and his money.
poor man...

well if that's the case he might end up like his idol, also a former Filipino World Champion.

huwhaaaaat! well, i think he's making the wrong decision. Not because his fans are against it but because we know how DIRTY politics is in the Philippines.
Manny is surrounded by politicians that people raise their eyebrows on. If Manny gets into politics there's a fat chance that people will see him as corrupt despite what he has done for others and for his country without need of any proof.

that is probably the result of manny pacquiao's idea of " great power comes with great responsibility.." let us see the the movie "Spider-Man 3" ..and mind if pacman could emulate the hero's decision in that "Peter Parker vs Spider-Man" themed film

I hope he does have a real platform of government in his plans of running for congress. I am afraid that he may win the election due to popular vote but in the end become a puppet for some other politicians behind him which makes him quite useless. I also want pacman to stay in his chosen field where he excels quite well "Boxing". I hope its not too late for him to back out from the polls.

well, he doesn't seem to have a real platform as of the moment. he's had a lot of interviews before he went to the US for his training but he never really pointed out his platform. i saw an interview once, where the reporter asked for his platform, and he blurted out very common needs, and the funny thing is, it took him almost a minute to say something.. i just hope he means well and not end up a puppet for some selfish politicians..

that news is terrible but it never surprised me. in the philippines, who's more popular usually would run for an office. just take a look at richard gomez and cesar montano. thats how bad philippine politics is, everybody could just run anytime they want

yep. and the annoying thing is that it seems that many are using showbiz stardom as a stepping stone to politics. they work so hard to have a name in showbiz and they'll just trash it by going into politics..

thats the thing about it. its hard to tell what his real intentions are. rumors come up, saying he's just fallen puppet to an unknown(duh!) politician. its really a waste for him to use his name for politics..

Personally , I believe he made the worst decision in his career. If he really wanted to help his people, it does not necessarily mean that he should run for congress, right? There are tons of ways to help others. In politics, you'll just ruin your name. Also, not that I'm belittling Manny's ability, but let's face it, what will he do once he gets the post? As the King of Philippine Comedy once said in Filipino: "If I win, what will I do?"

very well said man! you're right about that. it'd be very unwise for him to be in a political post wherein he can be able to help more if he's not seated.. c',)

Thanks! What I said is true and that's what I believe, considering the state of politics here in the Philippines.

this will be a good fight with Darlene Custodio (old clan of politicians who have served the district for more than a decade, i suppose, but how is the district doing?)...
PacMan really knows how to pick fights, at least, he knows how to measure his opponents capacity of winning...
Whatever choice he makes it will always be the right(hook?) one...
