I think it is always a good idea to save a portion of your income. If you want to be prudent, try setting aside at least 10-20% each month and put them in savings. It does help to save for a rainy day. ;-)

So how's ING Direct working for you so far? Coz i pulled out my money from my bank as they are charging me 4 dollars per month as service charge when my money is only earning a few cents.. geez! I'm thinking of opening an account from ING Direct but i'm a little skeptic about it. Please share your experience. Thanks!

I pay for things by direct credit, to save money writing cheques and postage. I try not to ring people if I am going to see them soon, I make sure I ring when it is the cheapest option. We are on pay as you go for our electricity, and we have different rates of tariff, depending on time of day.
