"Green" funerals

I was reading a friend's blog, where she had mentioned that she was doing some research into "green funerals." What do you know about this? What are your opinions? I'm interested in learning more.

I have never heard of that. It you do find out more, maybe you can post it.
Or possibly someone will respond that knows more about them.

Well, what I have read so far is that it would take place in someplace natural like a forest, instead of a cemetary. The person is not embalmed. The body is either wrapped in a biodegradable material, or placed into either a thin wooden or cardboard box for burial. Finally, the regular large toumbstones are not used. Instead a small, flat rock, tree, or plant marks the plot.
