Our city usually has a ice cream festival every year in a nice park in Wilmington. They have all sorts of flavored ice cream as well as a huge variety of ice cream treats. It is held once a year in July since that is our warmer month and usually lots of people attend. Do you have ice cream festivals where you are? Do you attend? I just found out this morning they are cancelling this year because of the counties expenses being too high. Lots of kids will be disappointed.

Wow, this is interesting! I don't think we have that in Singapore *yet*. Maybe this will be the new kid of the block. :P
But yes, I think I would love attending one to try all the ice-creams. Haha ;-)

I have never heard of an ice cream festival. We have the Woodchopping Festival in our town. people come from all over the world to particiapte it in. In a nearby town there is the Railroad Festival and the Strawberry Festival. It seems each town has their own special festival. Ice cream festival sounds fun.

I wish we had ice cream festivals in our city. When I used to stay with my Dad in the summertime we had a strawberry festival. Oh boy, all those yummy treats were the GREATEST!! I loved them. I miss those strawberry festivals.

WOW!! I wish here too we have ice cream festival hehehe. I can't resist ice cream even tough i am getting old, my friends say that lets keep that ice cream for Kids but heheh i always go for it when we hang out. I think people enjoy a lot at that festival young or old, and guessing that your place is special for ice creams. I want to attend those festivals, and i'll try to if i become rich with a good husband.

Ice cream is a dessert and food for people of all ages and races, not just for the kids. I love getting water ice during the summer as well as having ice cream. It has been cancelled for this year and hope they will bring it back the following year or maybe someone will start one of their own.

kgwat, you make me excited and my mouth is watering, I love ice cream. Once when I was in switzaland, we were taken to a park, in this park I saw a stall selling ice cream, the evening was chill, I just got myself a cone and they placed 3 differnt flavoured scoops on the cone. I ate it even when I was shivering. It was great.
I know how the childrens will miss it, let us hope something will happen and the festival will continue.

I am sure people will find other ways to eat ice cream this summer though not having the festival really has dampered peoples spirits. They are working on ways to fix the counties budget but that will not be til next year. I love ice cream as well and hope they find a way to have it.

Another great post, and I gave you a + for it. It was so interesting. I have never heard of this. I have lived in many states, and never heard of it, so I never went. If I had, I would have loved to go. Too bad your's was cancelled.

Ice Cream festival in Florida? lol. I don't think that would work very well, lol. Even when we were in Jersey I never had seen an ice cream festival. We had ice an sculpture festival but no ice cream. Darn shame too as I really love the ice cream!

yummy, I never had that one. Just imagine having a ice cream festival. We never have one. But we have very famous ice cream parlour, which has innovative types of ice creams and it is a craze to treat anyone who has to celebrate is going there and giving ice creams. And gadbad is one ice cream which has become very famous. It is very tasty with lots of fruits, nuts and with three flavored ice creams.

I like to eat icecream a lot. In our country (India) we dont have such kind of festivals for icecream. Really its interesting to hear about such kind of festivals. Enjoy it, but really i am missing it. All icecream lovers will be happy in our country, if we celebrate such kind of festivals...

Oh, I wish they had one. I don't think they do or I would have heard about it. Around here we have a grapefruit festival and a date festival up north in Coachella Valley. But, no ice cream festival that I know of. I will definitely look for one in the So-Cal area. I'm sure LA has one, I'll just have to find it.

how i wish we can have an ice cream festival here in the Philippines cause it's really warm and sometimes humid in our country ! people love ice cream very much and more on smoothies , milkshakes and our famous HALO-HALO ( ice shaves with milk & sugar then assorted tropical fruits , nuts and ice cream on top ! )
