Well I like Heavy Metal and Only heavy Metal. But Considering the fact whats going i do wonder if heavy metal is dying? The older lot of the 80's rocks but the X-generation are more interested in Hip Hop, Rap or other craps. The new bands doesnt have any good guitar or any sense of rock or metal in thier songs.. What cause the dying of Heavy Metal? Are the New Lot of bands Not talented anymore?

Music, like pretty much everything else in this world, keeps changing. While it's perfectly alright to look back on the good 'ol days, it wouldn't be fair to judge present musicians by the same yardstick. Because they have grown up in a different era and as such their musical influences would vary greatly. Granted, most of the modern rock bands today churn out radio-friendly songs to rake in the dough. But IMHO, there's nothing wrong with that. After all they're giving people what they want. Ultimately, it's the people who decide which type of music should be popular. Personally, i try to keep an open mind. That way i can appreciate any song without being bothered about genres. And as a result i sometimes get to hear a gem of a song which i wouldn't have heard otherwise. But having said that, nothing gets me high like rock music. Heavy metal wasn't ever really mainstream music. It's for the discerning few. ;) And hey, as long as there are people like me and you, heavy metal will never die !

Well Ckay..I will have to agree with you on that.. I dont think most of the world best Metal bands are from the US. It is either from Russia, Britain, Germany,Sweden and not to forget Australia.. But I dont see any new bands which are coming up which has metal taste in thier songs and that sucks big time

No way, Metal is NOT dying!! LOL! There are some fantastic metal bands out there that are still going...check out Nevermore, In Flames, Killswitch Engage, Children Of Bodom, Machine Head.....they've been around for a while but they are still going strong. Infact, Machine Head's most recent album, THE BLACKENING, has been named by a lot of people as one of the greatest metal albums EVER! Do check it out if you have not heard it, you will NOT be disappointed. :-) LONG LIVE METAL!!

Everything in life changes, so does music, and so does metal. I like the 80's, but the world has changed. Considering this, there's still plenty amount of new bands keeping the old tradition and gaining popularity. Why not listen to bands like Symphony X, Dream Theater, Stratovarius, Hammerfall, Nightwish, or Primal Fear? Even the giant bands of the 80s are still alive like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Manowar. Remember : the Army of Heavy Metal is an Army of Immortals! And metal will stay alive as long as we keep it alive in our hearts.

Hi there guys, Don't think it's dying, but, probably, I'm already old fashioned anyway. Still there's a lot to think of and still I get thrills down the spine hearing old goodies. meanwhile I have found for myself something new and interesting like FINNTROLL, TO DIE FOR and RHAPSODY. I'm lucky to live in the city where russian rock was born and which is mostly supportive in my country to the tunes we all like. Got tickets for the next show of Ozzy here but a little afraid to be disappointed as I was visiting Alice Cooper. Good luck to everybody and MAY GOD SAVE ROCK.

Face it Metal is never going to get to where it was back in the mid-90's. But I think that is good, it gets rid of a lot of trendy bands and it doesn't get watered down. Only the best will stick around when it's about something more than money.

Metal won't ever get to the point of how it was in the 80s not because of the bands, but because of the people and the fans in my opinion. Theres a lot of really bad bands out there these days, but theres also some very talented musicians who are technically better than a lot of 80s guys. Personally after the 80s a lot of people looked for some new trend to follow which led them to grunge and then more into alternative stuff and eventually to rap and hip hop, where we are today. If a group of large metal bands, not just a few, become popular and gain a large crowd I could see interest in it coming back, but I don't really see this happening with the bands out today.
