My daughter was playing with my old Barbies and came to me with a Barbie sized record and player and asked, "Mommy, what is this for?" I tried to explain based on what she knows, the CD. Then I remembered playing with my mother's 8-track player! I am not that old, she had a large record player cabinet that had an 8-track player. We only had one song, Jingle Bell Rock. I guess playing that 8-track and me asking about it made her feel old. What are your memories?

After my grandfather passed away, I somehow got a hold of an old record that he had recorded himself singing a German folk song. I can't for the life of me remember how he recorded this song, but anyhow, my 2 girls saw the record a few months ago and asked "What is that?" I told them what was on it and they wanted to listen to it, but I had no record player in the house. Plus the record isn't what I remember as a "normal" size one.

Very cool that you have that memory of your grandfather! Was the record a 45?
