I think some dogs have the ability to sense when things are going on with their masters or family members. We had a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix who could "tell" me when one of my kids had an ear infection. All of the dogs I have had have been very sensitive when one of us has been sick. Our current dog, a Parson Russell Terrier, will stay with any one of us when we are sick. She seems to want to provide comfort and knows that something isn't right, she's so sweet and gentle with us during times of illness. She is otherwise a crazy-active little rascal! She also knows(even before the suitcases come out) when we are getting ready to leave on a trip.

As far as i know, yes!
Dogs can really sense those things about their boss because they are sensitive and smart!
Specially those trained dogs, they are really amazing when you watch them doing lots of tricks...

I think dogs and cats for that matter can tell when something is wrong with us. I know my own when I'm sick will try to comfort me and make me feel better. Even when I'm just sad they will come up to cuddle against me and just try to give me love. This is more then usual type. It's also usually the ones that don't want love all the time that do it. They will curl up and just purr wanting to make me feel better I think.

I think dogs can sense when something is wrong with the people around them. Whenever I'm at home and upset, my dog Pudgie is always right there trying to get me to play with him or licking my cheek. He's a playful puppy, but even if he's in a mood where he doesn't want to play (he gets like that quite often) he'll do those things if I'm sad.
