hey friends,
Many of us (who were atheists initially) must have experienced incidents which shattered our very belief in the non-existence of God.
It would be nice if we share those incidents with rest of us.
The athiest friends can try to explain those incidents in their ways.

For me it was social pressure and education. I was once a devout catholic until the age of 17 when I started getting into books and had a diverse group of friends. In time, I found myself very skeptical of any organized religion... and to make a long story short... I'm an atheist, because I educated myself. Really, there was no huge turning point or milestone that lead me there, just books.

My story is basically identical to Tripod's, except for the social pressure. I was never surrounded by too many non-believer friends, but I didn't have too many fervent believers around me either, so I had to come to this conclusion more or less on my own.
It was only later, when I started using the internet, that I found many more people who shared the same worldview. And nope, I've never had any incident that made me change my mind since then.
