I'm not really sure. It's always been something about women (and some men) that baffles me. I suppose some theory could be made that our society's focus on beauty (via film and magazines and such) causes people to want to look like the current trend. In the Victorian era, full-cover dresses and pale skin was considered beautiful, while today, skimpier outfits and tans tend to be more commonly regarded as beautiful.
It's sad, in a way. Most people are beautiful in some way or another, but they don't realize it.

yes i agree. it is very sad that just because nicole richie or whoever is skinny skinny skinny everyone wants to be like that. we never see as much about the "fat" famous people on tv and magazines, only the ones who are goin into rehab, or hitting the 80lbs mark. sad.
anyways thanks for the comment!

youre lucky missy...weighting 105 would make me so happy...and to be honest its the whole view that everyone has from tv..back in history slightly heavy girls were accepted as the BEST looking of the woman around them. something happened and now you have to weigh 80 lbs and have fake boobs just to be noticed as "hot"

ya i totally agree with you like 3 of my friends have eating disorders/have had....and its terrible..one of them used to say she wanted to weigh 79lbs because mary kate olsens lowest was 80 lbs. it was so sad to see them go through that. and they are all still super tiny but most of them are healthy now. thank god.
but anyways thanks for the comment!

I would say that Hollywood and the media like fasion magazines and the like have a larger impact on our culture them people will admit too. And yes it's mostly women, but more and more men are feeling the pressure to conform to the pressure to Look good, smell great & whatever else madison ave wants to shove down our throats as along as we choose to sit in front of the TV.

I think allot of it has to do with the pressures of soceity today. If you look at it, You girls have these horrible role models that are plastered on billboards, television and other forms of media - and they look like barbiedolls. So for my answer it definitely lies with societies pressures.
I hope you can come to the realization that you are you! And nobody else can match that.
You need to find out what triggers those emotions that make you feel that way. Then you need to combat them! Maybe write them down in a diary or something. Then find ways to over come these emotions or feelings of guilt.
I hope this helps?
