I have know this girl all my life, our mothers were friends when they got pregnant. were now 22, and she is on her 2nd engagemnent, 2nd baby. she wants me to be a brides maid even though im in a different city. the dress, shoes and accies will be more than I can afford, since I have a son of my own to take care of. HOW do I ask her to be just a guest at her wedding instead of brides maid? I can barley afford the trip let alone the dress! HOW DO I NOT HURT HER FEELINGS? oh by the way shes over due with that seccond child now. I figure some time after babys born but we only have 4 months before the wedding.... some advice plz! feel free to ask more background questions!

just tell her the truth! she has kids on her own so she knows how much everything costs!
if you tell her that you are saving money for the trip and cannot afford anything else, maybe she pays for the dress and shoes!
i think if she is a good friend she understands you!
if she don't she isn't a good friend!

In my experiences, honesty is the best policy. You need to make sure she understand that it is not about how much you care for her, rather that it is an expense. It sounds like you are pretty good friends and that she will understand. Certainly, there is some special thing the two of you can do before the wedding to show your sincerity !
