Do you ever leave the house with your spouse or partner and then realize that you are both dressed the same? Yesterday I went out for drinks with my BF and a friend and it wasn't until we got to the bar that I realized... Natch! We were both wearing green jackets. Mine was cordoroy and fitted, his was more like a light shirt over his other shirt, but we had unintentionally matched. The same kelly green, just a shade or two off. Has this ever happened to you? Or do you ever intentionally match for an event? I hope this thread makes us all laugh!

Ha Ha! This is a funny discussion. I find myself making sure that my wife and I do NOT match. I don't want to be "that couple", believe me. We have been married almost 17 years and we have always made sure we don't look the same. The only exception has been as a joke or to a costume party.

Thats and so funny and actually it happened to me just the other day by pure accident. We wouldn't have noticed have it not been for our daughter telling us that we looked alike. We were on our way out to take my son to his doctors appointment at the specialist. We were dazed as we had a lot on our minds. We both went to seperate rooms and got dressed. We both came out and we standing in the kitchen just getting ready to walk out the door. When Brianna came walking in stood there and giggled and said mommy, daddy you guys look like twins. We looked at each other and here I was wearing a brand new maternity shirt that was a wonderful shade of burgandy. He was wearing the shirt I had bought him for christmas the same shade of burgandy. We were in such a hurry that we didn't have time to change so we left it as is. Thank goodness no one else said anything about it even if they did notice.

well our clothes doesn't really matter to me,as long as we are together and happy,it's alright with me.sometimes we do end up wearing the same color but it just shows we have the same taste, and i consider it a sign that we shoul definitely be together. =)

You have a good point -- it isn't the clothes that make the man (or woman, or couple).

That is too funny- Nope I make sure we don't match! I wouldn't want to be called twins or anything- I think it is cute at times-- like if you are a young couple and matching. But most of the times I see it- I'm like thats just wierd! : ) So what did you do take off your coat??

I think wearing matching clothes are cute. We just haven't tried it yet. I'll try doing that this Sunday when we attend the mass. I'll even have my kids wear the same color. I think everyone's going to look at us.

LOL! My boyfriend has swiped some shirts of mine as well. I have one that my sister made for me that says "guitarist" that somehow keeps ending up in his bureau. He also swiped my misfits shirt (but it was too big for me anyways)

I used to do that intentionally when I was younger. Now I don't bother to do that. If it happens, then it happens, but I don't go out of my way to match our clothes.

I can remember calling my friends when I was in gradeschool and getting the scoop on what we were all wearing that day. I even had a friend who looked like me, so we'd dress alike to try to stump the teachers, lol.

Oh I think it is so cute when we do this accidentally or on purpose. It makes us giggle like kids again unless we really both chose korny outfits and now its two for the price of one and we quickly change.

There have been nights when my husband and I are ready to go out for dinner and we both have the same color tops on. One of us always has to change.
For my 25th high school reunion, my best friend and I ended up wearing the same color tops~turquoise! We didn't realize it until we were there and took off our coats~ kinda embarassing.

Oh, you are lucky you catch it before you leave! For us it usually happens in the car right before we're at a destination, or sometimes when we are already there. I bet you and your friend looked cute in pictures :) turquoise can be a very flattering color!

Hehehe!!!Me and my high school friends are still doing that up until now, we are already young professionals 21-23 years old. Though, It may look funny to others, well, we dont care!!!Sometimes we go out wearing clothes with the same color, but we have our own style that matches to our own preference when we dress. When we were in High School we love to wear the same style of polo shirt with the little crocodile design. So our school mates called us Lacoste Girls..When we talked about that..all we do is to laugh..

Oh goodness, honey... Monday was my husband's birthday so we went out with a friend of ours. Turns out my husband, myself, my three year old son, AND the friend we went with were all wearing gray t-shirts, blue jeans, and white shoes.. and I didn't notice that my husband and I were matching till our friend pointed it out at the restaurant.... it was funny...and ironically very unintentional... though I notice that I tend to put my son in clothes I'm wearing, I think it's a subconscious thing because I don't notice until later.

I bet those pictures will be great! You guys have a family uniform. I think we must do it subconciously as well. Thanks for making me laugh.

Yes, we run back in and change. It's a good laugh though. I do however find myself dressing like my son now! I definitely think that is more acceptable than looking like my husband.

haha you wouldn't like living in Samoa then LOL when families travel overseas or attend functions, a lot of the families dress up the same. The women would wear "a puletasi" is like a top with a wrap around skirt all in the same material and patterns (sometimes with different colors) and then they make the mens shirts in the same material and patterns and also the childrens outfits. You definitely knew which family belonged together thats for sure. I on the other hand when i got a puletasi made, I made sure that my husband and son had different colors and patterns for their outfits.
My husband and I normally don't wear the same colors as our tastes are very different when it comes to clothing.

Yeah some times when me and my husband ready to went out we realized that we wore the matching clothes. But always that is my husband who drove my attention towards it. But when we realized this one of us change his or her clothes. But if we were going for the local shopping center thah time we don't change. But if we are going in parties one of us switched for another option. Sometimes we intentially match our clothes for event like marrrige where he wore tie to match with my dress or sometimes for a theme party we do match our clothes, just for fun.

Hi. prestocaro. I have seen many couples go out on a date like this. Or they may take a picture together like this. I think that this is very neat. It looks cute. The only thing about it is that both person don't wear the same exact color. It could be a darker color with a lighter color. Or a stripy color and a plain color that has the same color that the stripy shirt has. I have even seen couples take pictures together and they both have on the same kind of shirt. It just looks different on the two of them though.
