I hate to use a cliche here, but you never know what you have til it's gone. It's sad that you had to experience that in its truth--something being gone forever.
I'm sorry for your loss. I think it's because we take for granted that a person will always be there, and we know we value them... we just never realize how much till they are gone. In the sense of a relationship, when one leaves, if the other can convince them to come back, it's a good thing when they do, because the person they left has experienced life without them and knows what it's like, and doesn't want it again.

This happened to me too and now I am not allowing myself to get into that comfortable zone which is where we tend to take people for granted, I now live like there maybe no tomorrow, tomorrow may never come....lets hope people read this topic and start living like there may be no tomorrow...

I'm sorry for this loss...I've never experienced such a thing but I can imagine it is hard. Everyday life is full of things that get us far from the simple things and simple feelings, so we quitely ignore most things happening aorund us...then when we have no more these things, we realize how they were important.
