I picked up seedlings this year cause our growing season is so short, still cold in early March and over 100 degrees by mid June early July. Anyhow, I got two kinds of lettuce, zucchini, green beans, tomatoes, onions, parsley and lavendar, the last two are obviously for my herb garden.
Love to garden, and nothing in the grocery store compares with veggies fresh from the garden. I try every year to grow things but haven't figured out how to keep things alive in the desert.

We will be moving in the middle of the grow season, so I think the plan is to plant a few plants in the local community gardens. I want to grow melons and squash, at least... maybe some yams later on. And I know we'll do tomatoes in the house until we can transplant them. I love fresh, homegrown tomatoes!

I am not much at gardening but I was given a cherry tomato plant this year so I put into a big pot on my back landing and I was able to sit out there in the morning sun and have a couple of cherry tomatoes every morning it was great...

I ALWAYS grow various herbs like Lavendar, Chamomile, Sweet Oregano, Lemon Balm and so on and we also love to grow carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, sweet green peppers, chili peppers, banana peppers, roma tomatos, cherry tomatos adn this year we are goign to try strawberries and grapes I think too....We tried pumpkin and watermelon back in Canada and it just didnt work out too well for us LOL

I'm going to try using earthboxes this year. They seem pretty foolproof and that's what I need. I think I will do two, one with tomatoes and one with peppers. I'll plant winter squash, cabbage, lettuce and cukes in raised beds. I have a couple of window boxes with herbs and I'll try sunflowers again in my front yard. I wanted to pick-up the gourds for loofahs, but from what I read my growing season isn't long enough here and if I were going to try it anyway I should have started them indoors already.
