Another thought just occured to me. If you were continually happy it may become boring ! we all experience ranges of thoughts and emotions, highs and lows are what constantly shape and change us

Wishing for happiness is not a selfish wish. Everyone deserve to feel happy. As long as it won't hurt anyone..

I personally think thats not a selfish wish. Everyone wants to be happy, there is always this innert need for an individual to be happy. Besides there's nothing wrong for wishing something for yourself specially during your birthday! its your day! i don't think the workd is gonna get mad at you for not wishing world peace...
If given opportunities to wish i wish for the same thing as well- happiness, if not- i just wish that i be contented with what i currently have and what i will recieve... Nothing fancy... =)

I think everyone wishes for happiness, but because the whole human experiance is subjective happiness is different from person to person. If you define happiness as being content, joyful and peace with your self, others and the things you do in life then it is definately not selfish !!

I don't think it is selfish to wish for a happy life, being happy feels much better than being unhappy. Plus if you are happy then your friends and family will be happy also so your wish would have a knock on effect that you haven't thought of.
