Pyrotechnician

Hey guys, haven't been on here in a while thought i would drop by. I am currently in high school and i am trying to decide what i want to do for the rest of my life i really want to go to MIT and be a computer technican or computer programming. Instead another carrer has sparked my interest. Being a pyrotechnician. Such as you see in the movies wehn fireworks go off or explosions happen the people making that magic happen are pyrotechnicians. I researched and they get paid pretty well $45 to $65 an hour to set up firework shows movie explosions and etc. So what you do guys think do you think the money is worth the risk of possibley losing your life or should i go with about half as much pay but not as much could happen (not saying it can't.)
