I logged on today to find that my star had gone from a blue 95/100 to a red 89/100. I looked at my discussions that I replied to and did not see how I could have offended anyone. If anyone gave me a negative please let me know why. I am trying to do this right, so let me know what I have done wrong. I miss my blue star!

princeworthy, I'm sorry to hear that your star fell so drastically. I think that people, even though they aren't suppose to rate you a negative when not agreeing with you most likely did. I popped into your discussion from a day or so ago and it didn't appear to be going very well. Most people were not kind or respectful of your decision. That would be the only thing that I can think of. I have seen your other discussions and responses and they are always done quite well. I will plus this discussion in hopes that we see your star rise quickly. However I must tell you that it seems harder to increase the star than it takes for it to fall.
I'm wishing you a speedy rise in your star, and will come back and "+" your replies, in hopes of seeing it increase quickly. :)

Yes, that discussion did not go quite as planned! I didn't think it would have this much of an effect though. To top things off, my husband now tells me he doesn't care if I want to have male friends! Ugh!

I'm so sorry. I have a few discussions that I didn't expect to get as much negative response either. Although they didn't go as bad as yours. :) I checked on that to see what people had to say and what your response to them was for more information, but they were really negative. I'm sorry that some took the rating system against the way that it's intended. We will get it back up though. I will make sure to come in and even if I don't respond will give you positives. :)
I have a few males on my friends list that start some really good discussions on a regular basis and look forward to their posts. :)

I think that it's not worth worrying about. There are always "negative" people who will rate a negative, no matter what. So just keep doing your best and don't worry so much about your rating. (PS I have given you a + and I hope that it helps.)

Okay, I'm confused about this whole start thing. Everyone's talking about red vs. blue stars but yours is yellow. Is that good or bad? I was thinking that the lower numbers were good because I thought everyone was trying to get to a "1", but is it the opposite?

you will probably get it back really fast, don't worry about it hon. You can't worry about who you offended if you are not a person who normally offends people.

I am sorry that this has happened to you. I don't agree with people giving negatives unless they are for copying and pasting and myLot addvised people not to give negatives just because they have a differnet opinion to yours. I will give you a plus to help restore you blue star and I will rate some of your past topics and responses also. You will probably have your blue star back shortly. In the meantime don't worry too much about it, these things happen.

I know how you feel! My heart sank when I saw that my star was red and it sank to my toes when I saw it was 89/100. I know I shouldn't let it get to me but it is our reputation on here.

You have done nothing wrong. There are people out there that are jealous of 10 *, and they put a -, to bring it down. This star business is new on here, and the dummest thing MyLot has done yet. Don't even think about it, who cares. You are doing a fine job, keep it up dear.

Keep your chin up. If anyone gives you a negative for giving your own opinion, they should let you know what offended them. I have enjoyed your comments and discussions.

Sorry to hear about your star, I didn't have a clue about the stars or the + and - until the other day, just to get a star would be an achievment I'm sure, and I suppose then I will have to get to know why the star has numbers in it, ah well I will just keep on plugging. Well now that I know about it I will give you a + or ++ as well and hope your blue star with shine again.

That happened to me too! and its been like a week and i still couldn't bring back my blue star. It does kinda affected in a way too- since my star turned from blue to red- i sort of felt less motivated to respond and to make discussions, nothing interesting seems to go over my mind! And i think the reason why i had gone down from a 10 to 9 was because of my telemarketer discussion... =( i think a lot of people rated me negatatively because they think im one of those callers.. geeze... that wasnt really fair for me, and it was kinda hurtful in a way. But that's life here at myLot... I hope you get your blue star back as soon as possible though =) just keep on posting even if it hurts... =(

I just don't understand rating people negative when you don't like what they have to say. It is childish! I responded to your discussion on telemarkting and I said, well you know what I said :) I didn't exactly agree with you but I rated you a positve, because it was a great topic!

Sorry about your star. I know I'm striving for that coveted blue one as well! I almost never give - ratings, except for when someone gives a one or two word reply, or is really rude and belittling towards another member. I can't imagine why someone would give you a - rating because you are always respectful and thoughtful in your responses. Weird! Oh well, I'm sure you'll get it back soon.

Thank you so much prestocaro! I really appreciate your kindness! I think I have only given maybe 2-3 negatives. I hate to give them! I have never rated anyone negative that has responded to one of my posts. I am sure you will have you blue star soon too. Mine didn't come untill after I hit 500 posts :)

I bet the reason is that we argued. It was just something that we both had stong opinons on. It is not like we were being rude to each other or calling names. I was not offended by your posting, a little upset, but I got over it. To prove it I am going to add you to my friends. What is the Easy Share one? Your bloggger? I am confused. BTW my husband has decided that it is now okay to have male friends. I am sure you know why if you have read my blog!

Why would I turn you in? I don't give negatives or turn in people who disagree with me. Everyone who responded to that discussion (auctually any of my discussions) got a positive. The only time people don't is if they are talking about something completly off or they copy/paste without credit. These people I just don't rate.

I read a few posts and left 2 comments. Easy Share another one of my blogs. I thought ya might have been confused as to who went to your link. I didn't think we argued. I just thought we chatted. I was sorta afraid that you would turn me in. Then I remembered my first years of marriage. I would have been livid if my husband had been chatting with other women. After 14 years, I am like Who cares! He chose me then, he will choose me know.
I still give you lots of + when I see you post.
