Which is better or even best? Windows XP, Windows 98,95,etc.?

I have a Windows 98 program here in our computer and am planning to changing to XP. But some of my friends are telling me that Windows XP or any other higher version of windows program are easily corrupted. They can easily have virus which I am afraid of. What do you think will be better or even the best among all of them? Are my friends right about the virus thing?

I am using windows 98. Is it too bad for me? I have my anti-virus as well. Well thanks for your opinion.

Any windows can easily affect by viruses including Win98.
When using anykind if windows, especially for internet users, try update antivirus daily because everyday there's a new virus come out. It's very important to keep updating AV. And also use anti spyware. I prefer Spybot search n destroy, yahoo anti spyware or spyware terminator. :-)

If it the best, of course the latest is da best, and it is Windows Vista.
But for the old PC that have low performance, then it depends on what system is most suitable to it. May be old pc is suitable for Win98 only and cannot be support or highly performance by the new windows. :-)
