How long should a tour last?

How long do you think a military tour should last? It used to be six to nine months, but my brother has had two tours over seas, and both have been over a year. Are we burining out our troops by doing this? How long should we have a soldiers tour be?

I don't think we should but then I'm against war soo... if I had to pick it would be 6 months

That's actually what the tours USED to be, 6-9 months. But my brother has been over there twice and both were over a year.
