As a medical practitioner, I would recomend to eat a proper diet, or you can also try the L.S.L.F diet otherwise known as the low salt low fat diet. Eat the right selection of food which are not too salty and low sodium content. Also prevent your self from eating fatty foods. Salt and fats contribute a lot in having a high blood pressure. A regular excercise can also help to prevent high blood pressure as it burns down the fats that are stored in our body and keeping our heart fit.

More than yoga is needed to control high blood pressure, but I agree wholeheartedly that yoga can help this physical condition. For instance, if a person has diabetes that leads to high blood pressure, yoga alone is not going to fix the problem. But add in a modification in the diet, and yoga can be a useful tool to get someone on the right track.
Yoga is also great for people with fibromyalgia, which I have. Because of back issues I cannot do yoga right now, but it always was very helpful for me. Everyone thinks of yoga as something for 'new age' people, but it is really for everyone.
Good discussion - thank you. : )

Good..Thanks for the discussion...
It is important to take steps to keep your blood pressure under control. The treatment goal is blood pressure below 140/90 and lower for people with other conditions, such as diabetes and kidney disease. Adopting healthy lifestyle habits is an effective first step in both preventing and controlling high blood pressure. If lifestyle changes alone are not effective in keeping your pressure controlled, it may be necessary to add blood pressure medication
