I am thinking of having Laser Eye Surgery

I am thinking of having Laser Eye Surgery on both eyes.
My Optometrist says I am a perfect candidiate as my eyes haven't really changed in the last 10 years.
Has anyone had this procedure?
Was it good or bad?
It is expensive but so is the continual expense of contact lenses
