What can we do with our own children who are living in a world of poverty and malnourishment? Why are we spending millions of dollars on children elsewhere in the world, before we look after our own future?
I would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations?

I think the 1 thing i always ask myself is - why do people insist on bringing more & more children in to the world if they cant afford to be doing it?
I know this might not sit well with others but it is something i often wonder.
I mean, i have this within my own family - a competition between 2 people (both aged 21) on who is pregnant before the other & who has more kids yet neither one could afford to feed the 1st baby before they brought more kids in to the world. Seriously though, they're currently ready to have babies 3 & 4 but i don't think they understand that these kids will only cost more & more money they dont have, as they get older.
As for spending money on kids in other countries - i agree, they should worry more about the poverty within their own countries before they start handing out aid to anyone else.
I'm sure many will disagree with me & i do feel for the kids in the 3rd world countries but unfortunately, we really cant be held responsible for that.

You know your personal beliefs are just as important as anyone elses, so never let anyone tell you that you're wrong doing. I think your thoughts are definitely on the right track. The question next is what do we need to do to push these gov't officials on their own streets?

I have often wondered that myself. I agee with you what about our kids living on the streets with nothing to eat and no bed to sleep in at night. Our government need to take care of our own. Have they ever heard of sweeping around your own front porch before you go sweep around your neighbors.

I know that there are systems in place to help children in the USA. DHS, Free Clinics, child care, food stamps, clothing, school supplies, free lunches and several others. Although it is up to the parents to make sure these services are used. I am by no means saying this system is perfect, it is not, and could use some overhauling for sure. In other places in the world the children have no resources to help them out. But, there are non-profit (don't believe this cuz somebody is getting paid) organizations such as feed the children which offer food and clothing. Other than these such organizations the parents have no resources to provide for their children.

I would have to disagree with you here. These systems are nothing less but a simple way to put a bandaid on the sitution. The system in place is not always there for the children - Most of these children have no parents or protection.
