Why do most particular investors loose on the stock market?

The stock market goes up and down but most of the time it's going up. Unless that fact,most of particular investors just talk about a gamble,great risk when the discusssion goes about the stockmarket. After a strong correction there are much little particular investors who sold their shares and talking about never again to invest money on the stock market,some came back a few years later when stocks are much higher then the moment they have ever sold. The reason most particular investors on the stock market loose money is because they haven't the time to wait when the timing of buying wasn't right and they fear about more loosing money,the timing isn't right because they bought too high because they are greedy on that moment,the moment you have to buy is on the moment you have fear about your investment because then the prices are low.
