I need your idea about this electronic device!!!!

One day I came to think about this electronic device. Basically this is driven by a micro controller. It connects to the internet using tcp/ip. It has the capability of turning on and off a computer and other electrical devices that can be found at home. Functionality of controlling electrical devices at home has been implemented for so long now. One new thing I have in mind with this is the control over the computer. Basically my idea about this is to have a private web and file server or any web services than can be hosted by the computer and it will be turned on only if you want to utilize the said services. In this manner, power consumption of the computer is minimized because it is off when you are not in need of the services it can render. Since the device is connected to the net, it can be accessed remotely and electrical devices at home can be monitored as long as you have an internet connection. Another feature that can be added here is the capability of of accepting sms instructions so it will be more accessible even without internet connection. It can also send the status of the electrical devices at home. I need your opinion about this.
