If someone smiled at you, would you smile back?

I am always smiling at people. If waiting in line or sitting in waiting room or want not. My grandfather calls me smiley.

I agree. I smile back. But I noticed that a lot of people do that. I think it's polite. Now the only time I don't smile back jouyfully is when its some creepy old man or lustful male smiling at me I don't frown, I just give them a quick smile glance turing my head combination and jet before they can come and talk to me. EWWW I hate that. But other than that I smile back pleasantly.

Usually if someone smiles at me, then normally i smile back. i guess it's just a reaction. But i feel like the person is just being nice/friendly. so it would be rude not to smile back. :)

I'd smile to someone who would smile at me but of course that depends on what kind of smile is that,if a stranger smiled at me i'd probably think the she/he knows me and i just don't remember who she/he is

Yes, when someone smiles at me in a pleasant way I will smile back. I feel the same as you do in that it would be kind of rude not to do so. A friendly smile, to me, is a type of greeting and a attempt at connecting with someone.

Of course, I ALWAYS smile back, whatever kind of smile I receive - even if it's a sarcastic or insulting smile, because that shows them up far more than looking annoyed, or ignoring them. I hate that when you smile at someone and they dont smile back. If I accidently catch someone's eye I ususally always smile, I hate when they dont smile back I think it is rude.
