Try or Skip?

When you are travelling in a country, will you try their local food or will u try to look for shops selling food that you are used to eating? When I travel, I will like to get a taste of the local cusine. However, some of my travelling partners will rather look for their usual staple. Which I thought defeat the purpose of visiting another country. You are supposed to understand more about their culture! I dun mind trying and if I really can't get used to the taste then I will fall back on something I am comfortable with. But not without trying any at all.

Like you, I will try the local food as that's adds to my experience of learning and understanding their culture and way of life. Even if I can't adapt to the food, I will still try failing which I fall back on bread.

i also like to try the different foods to eat in other countries first. if i dont really enjoy then yes i will go back to the food i eat usually in UK. it is worth trying as some different foods can be very nice. as they say: dont knock it until you have tried it. thats my motto

When I travel I love tasting local food. I mean it is apart of the whole experience. You may be traveling for business or pleasure, but if you are in a different place I feel it is always best to try new things

Definitely I will try the local fare. That would make my travel experience more complete. It's quite weird if you go around the world and all you ate was MacDonalds. :P
