Motherinlaws unfair treatment

My motherin-law, who is otherwise a good lady , behaves very strangely sometimes . She dosent let me do the chores in the kitchen . it has given my husband the impression that i dont want to share the burden at home. She even dosent even let me touch anything in the kitchen .i feel extremely hurt about this unfair treatment.How can i handle this ?

First, let me explain tha tI don't understant th customs and lifestyle in India, but here in the United States of America, tha would just not be tolerated. Maybe you should just tell her that, while you both love and respect her, this is your home and he is now your husband and she needs to stop this behavior and let you do your job. Tell her that you realize how much she loves her son but that you love him as well and if she really loves him, she will stop fighting you and instead work with you to make a harmonious life in this home.
